14 September 2026 was the day Ramayana's musical journey became public. On Ganesh Chaturthi, the makers released the Siya Ram poster first, followed by Jai Jai Ram, and then the first video glimpses from the song. For Sai Pallavi, it was another important step in the public journey of Sita.
The Day Started With Siya Ram
The plan had already been announced on 13 September. The official @worldoframayana account said that the musical journey of Ramayana would begin on Ganesh Chaturthi with an invocation. The Siya Ram poster was scheduled for 7:30 a.m. IST, and Jai Jai Ram would follow soon after. The announcement also gave the main song credits: A. R. Rahman as composer, Dr Kumar Vishwas as lyricist, and Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal as singers.[1][2]
So the sequence was clear from the beginning. The poster would come first. The song would come next. The video glimpses would then give the audience the first visual experience of the song.
7:30 a.m.: The Siya Ram Poster
The first release arrived at exactly the announced time. ABP Live reported that the motion poster was released at 7:30 a.m. on 14 September, and The Times of India also reported that the team kept to the announced schedule.[3][4]
The poster showed Ranbir Kapoor as Rama and Sai Pallavi as Sita seated together on a rock beside a river, with a forest in the background. Rama places a flower in Sita's hair, and Sita is seen smiling. These details were reported by publications covering the release that morning.[5][6][7]

The poster also carried the film's title treatment and the line "Our Truth. Our History," along with the Diwali 2026 release window, as noted by Outlook.[7] More than being another promotional image, it became the visual beginning of the day's musical release.
Then Came Jai Jai Ram
The first song followed the poster on the same day. The Hindu, Indian Express, India Today and News18 all reported the public release of Jai Jai Ram on 14 September 2026, which was Ganesh Chaturthi.[8][9][10][11]

The Credits

Those credits remain consistent across the reports covering the release. The Hindu and Gulf News also carried Rahman's explanation of the song. He described the heart of the track as the repeated name of Shri Ram and spoke about keeping the feeling of prayer while allowing the song to grow into a cinematic piece. He also spoke about the way Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal brought their own expression to it without moving the devotional feeling away from the centre.[8][12]
Gulf News also reported Kumar Vishwas's explanation of the lyrics. His description focused on the way devotees turn towards Rama for guidance and strength. The report also quoted Namit Malhotra connecting the release with Ganesh Chaturthi and describing the song as part of the emotional and spiritual foundation of the larger film.[12]
Indian Express described the track as combining the feeling of an aarti with the scale of a film song.[9] That gives a useful picture of what the song was being presented as: devotional in its core, but made for the scale of a major cinematic production.
The Song Also Brought the Story to Life
The audio release was followed by video glimpses from Jai Jai Ram. These were not presented as a complete story sequence. Instead, the visuals moved through different moments from the Ramayana and connected the song with important parts of the story.
Reports from 14 September mentioned the swayamvar and the breaking of the bow, the wedding of Rama and Sita, moments involving Dasharatha and the immersion of his ashes, Bharat milaap and passages from the vanvas.[5][9][10][11][13][14]

Sai Pallavi as Sita in the Glimpses
The Hindu wrote about Ranbir Kapoor as Rama and Sai Pallavi as Sita appearing in these visuals and described them as "exhibiting their charm." [8] The glimpses therefore added something that the audio alone could not: they connected the song with the visual world of Rama and Sita and with the larger story being built for the film.
